A Ready Heart & Desire to Go

I hope the holidays are treating you well! I am finishing the final preparations for my trip to India, which is in 6 days! Our team had a packing party last Sunday and seeing everything packed and ready to go made everything seem so real.  I have gotten all of my shots and I have finished buying most of the things I will need including a mosquito net tent, malaria and garlic pills (they will supposedly repel bugs), books for my 15.5 hour plane ride, and long skirts to fit the conservative culture.  Even with all of these preparations, I don't think anything can truly prepare me to embark on this incredible journey.  I am so excited to experience the culture and people for myself after so many months of learning everything I can about the nation.  My heart has never been so ready for a mission trip before and I have felt God really preparing me mentally and spiritually for what I will experience.  This process of preparation, fundraising, and prayer has brought me to a greater understanding of His heart for the people of India and His role in sending me there.  I feel so affirmed that God will use my team to impact the people of India and I cannot wait for Him to use me!

25 days!

I cannot believe that I leave in 25 days! I know that I have a lot of things that I have to get done before I leave and a good amount of money to raise still, but I'm so thankful to have reached this point! God is just doing awesome things in this process and I continue to fall more and more in love with India.

I catch myself looking at pictures of India all the time. I cannot even begin to explain to you how excited I am!!! India's culture is so beautiful and the children are so precious. I don't know what God has in store for me, but I'm excited to see where he takes me! Please keep me in your prayers!

"The spirit of the Sovereign Lord is on me, because the Lord has anointed me to proclaim good news to the poor. He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim freedom for the captives and release from darkness for the prisoners." -Isaiah 61:1
